Since the firm’s inception in 1952, “Green” innovation has been a hallmark of
+VG Architects. The legacy of successful heritage building preservation and rehabilitation has been recognized in Ontario with over 45 Awards of Excellence.
In recent times, others have recognized this approach as a particularly effective means of reducing the local carbon footprint. “The Greenest building is the one that’s already built” is a common phrase today, recognized with the rules of the three R’s: reduce, reuse and recyle.
+VG continues to integrate green strategies and innovations into our designs for both historic and new building projects. We continue to develop Green Building Strategies for municipalities and school boards.
Our extensive knowledge base in adaptive reuse, historic rehabilitation and restoration, has evolved into sustainable practice for new building design. Our versatility incorporates various building programs with green innovation, including Leadership in Energy Efficient Design (LEED®).
